Gideon Hausner devoted his life to bringing the
moral core of Judaism to the administration of justice in Israel.
As Attorney General of Israel in the 1960's, he is best known
for serving as Chief Prosecutor at the Adolf Eichmann trial. He
served as a member of the Knesset from 1965 - 1967, as a minister
in the cabinet from 1974 - 1977, and as President of the International
Council of Yad Yashem from 1969 - 1989.
Gideon Hausner promoted and encouraged the field
of Holocaust education so the stories of many could be preserved
and honored. Gideon Hausner was related to members of our school
community. We are proud to be associated with someone whose life
was dedicated to Jewish values, justice, and education as well as
a deep commitment to the State of Israel.
