Our students gain a first-rate general education and the Jewish knowledge, Jewish values and Jewish community involvement needed to become responsible citizens and active participants in Jewish life. Guided by the principle of kavod (respect), we instill in all of our students the values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), tzedakah (acts of righteous giving) and gemilut hasadim (compassion towards others). At Hausner these principles are not just understood as concepts, but are put into practice on a daily basis. Our student councils sponsor school-wide service projects, tzedakah projects and community building programs throughout the year.
In 2002 our 7th grade class received
the Outstanding Philanthropic Youth Group award from
the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Silicon Valley
Chapter. The award recognizes service by young people who have
demonstrated commitment to the community through direct financial
support and leadership in philanthropy.
