"Change for Change" Drive: November 9-19
A letter from the 8th Graders:
Dear Parents,
Job interviews are not the only place where first impressions matter! Looking good for your first day of school is important as well, however the average homeless person is a nine-year-old child.
After learning about homelessness in the eighth grade Avodah L'Olam program, we are organizing a project to help clothe homeless children through My New Red Shoes. By bringing in any CHANGE or dollar bills, our goal is to clothe 30 homeless children. This project is occurring November 9th through November 19th (during Homelessness Awareness Month). In the elementary school, there will be a jar for change in every classroom. In the middle school, jars will be in select classrooms.
My New Red Shoes enables children to get a new pair of shoes and a fifty dollar gift card to Old Navy. "Change for Change" helps homeless children feel good throughout their school year. We encourage parents and children to contribute and spread the word!
With much appreciation,
Hausner Class of 2010
